D. J. Cole was named CEO in 2014 and Chairman in 2018. His experience includes more than 35 years of leadership, operational and financial positions, but one of his most valued and rare attributes is his ability to connect strategy, numbers and people to achieve successful results for our clients, employees and shareholders.
D. J. joined CCMC in 2007 as chief financial officer and president of Shared Services and served as Chief Operating Officer in 2013. Before joining CCMC, D. J. served as chief financial officer of Cold Stone Creamery, the fastest-growing ice cream concept in the United States, where he built and led the in-house finance, accounting and information technology teams during the company’s significant growth from 900 U. S. locations to 1,450 locations around the world. He also served five years as chief financial officer and vice president of administration for AG Communication Systems, a developer and manufacturer of advanced products for telecommunications service providers.
D. J. earned an MBA in financial management and business policy from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a degree in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. He spent three years in the audit practice of Arthur Andersen and holds a CPA certificate. D. J. is also recognized as a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) by the Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) and as a Certified Arizona Association Manager (CAAM) by the Arizona Association of Community Managers (AACM).
Currently, D. J. is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a a multidisciplinary real estate forum for industry leaders and policy makers dedicated to creating better places for people and serves on the board of Catholic Education Arizona.
