Mesa, Arizona, FFA Chapter Wins Community Service Award

Preparing today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders helps ensure the communities we serve continue to thrive for years to come. The Future Farmers of American of Red Mountain High School have become stalwarts of the Mountain Bridge community in Mesa, Arizona – and their efforts are paying off.

The Red Mountain High school organization received FFA’s 2017-18 Community Service Award in recognition of 3,864 hours of service with the Mountain Bridge Community Association. Throughout the year, students volunteered their time at community events, including The Great Pumpkin Party, Gingerbread Lane and The Bunny Hop.

“The FFA students bring so many skills along with them each time they visit the community,” said Mountain Bridge lifestyle director Lisa Brennan. “They are excellent organizers, problem solvers, hard workers, self-motivated, great at interacting with people and an enormous amount of fun. I can really trust they will put their hearts into everything they do and leave a lasting impression. Our residents love having them here.”

The students weren’t the only ones honored at a recent FFA banquet, either. The organization presented Lisa an Honorary Chapter FFA degree.

CCMC Community Partner Northwest Landscaping Receives Marana Branding Iron Award

Based on a nomination from the teams at Gladden Farms and Saguaro Bloom, Northwest Landscaping has been named the recipient of the Marana Branding Iron Award.

Each year, the town council of Marana in southern Arizona awards to Branding Iron Awards, one to an individual who has made a significant impact on the community and the other to a business who exemplifies community partnership. We’re proud to see Northwest receive this award for their commitment to serving communities we manage.

“We chose to nominate Northwest Landscaping based on their partnership with Gladden Farms and Saguaro Bloom and their impact on the daily lives of our residents,” said vice president Nick Ferre. “This goes far beyond landscape maintenance. This is everything from Jerry, our irrigation technician, carrying dog treats in his pocket and speaking with every resident walking a dog to Glenn, the owner of the company, who is at nearly every lifestyle event throughout the year, assisting the CCMC team and genuinely becoming part of the community.”

CCMC will be represented as Northwest receives this community award during the Marana State of the Town Address on April 19. We congratulate the Northwest team on this accomplishment and thank them for embodying what it means to be a community partner.

Hill Country Retreat’s Clay Hadick Named Outstanding Homeowner Leader

Each year, the Community Associations Institute selects Outstanding Community Leaders from a field of more than 2 million homeowner volunteers serving on their community’s Board or committees. We’re proud to announce Clay Hadick, a Board member at Hill Country Retreat in San Antonio, as one of this year’s recipients.

Nominated by their community association peers, colleagues and community managers, award recipients exemplify service to their communities. CAI received more than 150 nominations for this year’s recognition. Clay has served on the Hill Country Retreat Board of Directors, where he serves as vice president, for more than two years and has played an integral part in ensuring the community’s continued success.

During Clay’s time on the Board, the community’s reserve fund increased from $480,000 to $1.2 million and the community received back-to-back honors as recipient and runner-up of the Community of the Year award from the San Antonio Chapter of the Community Associations Institute. In addition to serving on the Board, Clay is also active as a resident in the community, participating in a number of community clubs, including Veterans, Brew Crew, men’s softball and pickleball.

Outside of his role on the Board, Clay co-founded and served as chair of the NW 151 Annexation Group, which advocated for the residents of the Alamo Ranch Property Owners Association to vote to be annexed into the city of San Antonio or to remain as unincorporated Bexar County. This effort ultimately saved homeowners more than $1,000 annually in average city taxes.

“A collaborative spirit and shared vision are critical to developing a successful partnership between CCMC and the Boards we serve,” said Neil Bresnahan, Hill Country Retreat community manager. “Clay represents these values to the highest degree. His commitment to our community and to ensuring we maintain the best quality of life possible for our residents has helped position us for continued success now and in the future. I am grateful for his service to Hill Country Retreat and excited for him to receive much-deserved recognition on a national level.”

CCMC Providing Management Services to Las Sendas

CCMC expands its presence in Phoenix’s East Valley with the addition of Las Sendas. This premier, established community includes 3,400 homes and offers healthy lifestyle opportunities, multi-generational activities and superior services to homeowners in a comfortable, beautifully maintained desert environment.

Our relationship with Las Sendas began about a year ago, when board president Jeff Brugos contacted division president Delores Ferguson. The two remained in touch through the summer and fall, when CCMC was invited to compete for the community’s management services contract, which we recently officially received. CCMC began serving the community April 1.

“There are so many people who contributed to this win,” Delores said. “I am so thankful for the time, effort and positive attitude everyone demonstrated throughout this entire process. Las Sendas is an excellent addition to our portfolio, and we are very much looking forward to working with the Board and entire community.”
